1. Vải lanh lụa là gì
Vải lanh hay còn có tên khác là vải linen, thuộc một trong những chất liệu lâu đời nhất trên thế giới. Thành phần chủ yếu của loại vải này là vỏ, xơ, sợi của cây lanh. Cây lanh có mặt ở nhiều nơi trên thế giới nhưng chất lượng nhất phải kể đến ở khu vực Tây Âu.
2. Nguồn gốc của vải lanh
Cây lanh được trồng để sản xuất vải từ thời cổ đại ở vùng Lưỡng Hà. Chỉ những người thuộc tầng lớp giàu có hoặc tu sĩ mới có thể sử dụng chất liệu này. Khi thời tiết quá nóng, họ thường mặc các trang phục từ vải lanh trắng.
Bên cạnh đó, vải lanh còn được dùng để làm khăn trải bàn và trải giường. Sợi lanh không đàn hồi nên dệt khá khó. Vì thế việc sản xuất vải lanh trở nên tốn kém hơn so với sợi bông cotton.
3. Quy trình sản xuất ra vải lanh
Bước 1: Thu hoạch vỏ cây lanh.
Khi thân cây lanh bắt đầu chuyển sang màu vàng hoặc hạt chuyển sang màu nâu thì đã có thể thu hoạch được để sản xuất thành vải. Công đoạn này được thực hiện bằng tay thông qua hình thức nhổ hay cắt bằng máy.
Bước 2: Dầm cây lanh.
Sau khi thu hoạch, tiến hành dầm cây ngay tại ruộng hoặc trong bể, bồn chứa khiến các vi khuẩn phân hủy chất pectin giúp gắn kết các sợi lanh với nhau.
Bước 3: Tách vỏ cây lanh và xử lý sợi lanh.
Sau đó tách phần vỏ xơ bên ngoài khỏi phần gỗ mềm bên trong bằng cách nghiền nát bởi một con lăn kim loại. Tiếp đến phân loại các xơ ngắn thành một nhóm, các xơ mềm và dài được giữ nguyên.
Bước 4: Se sợi.
Sau công đoạn xử lý, xơ lanh sẽ được cuộn vào suốt chỉ trong điều kiện ẩm ướt. xơ lanh sẽ được truyền qua nước nóng nhằm đảm bảo sự kết dính đạt mức tốt nhất.
Bước 5: Sấy sợi và dệt vải lanh.

4. Đặc tính của vải lanh lụa
Vải lanh lụa có độ bền khoảng 5.5 – 6.5 gm/den, khả năng giãn nở khoảng 2.7 – 3.5%. Các sợi vải lanh được dệt và may chắc chắn hơn nhiều so với vải cotton do cấu trúc xơ lanh dài hơn. Không bị co giãn trong quá trình sử dụng.
Tuy nhiên, do vải lanh lụa được sản xuất từ sợi lanh nên sau thời gian dài sử dụng, vải sẽ có hiện tượng bị xù bông.
Màu nguyên bản của vải linen là màu be, nâu nhạt, vàng nhạt hoặc thi thoảng là màu xám. Màu sắc sẽ thay đổi theo sắc tố của thân cây lanh. Với điều kiện ánh sáng càng đầy đủ thì bề mặt vải càng bóng và sáng màu hơn.
5. Ưu và nhược điểm của vải lanh lụa
5.1. Ưu điểm của vải lanh lụa
Khả năng thấm hút nhanh: Chất liệu này có khả năng thấm hút nhanh. Đặc biệt nhanh khô khi có gió. Chính vì thế rất thích hợp để sử dụng làm các trang phục bằng vải lanh lụa vào mùa hè nóng bức.
Khả năng chịu nhiệt tốt: Vải lanh lụa có khả năng chịu nhiệt tốt hơn nhiều so với các loại vải cotton thông thường. Bên cạnh đó, chất liệu này còn khá mỏng nhẹ, phù hợp với các hoạt động ngoài trời vào mùa hè.
Tính thẩm mỹ cao: Do đặc tính tự nhiên vốn có mà vải lanh lụa có độ bóng đẹp hơn rất nhiều so với các loại vải nhân tạo khác. Hơn nữa, thành phần của loại vải này có các xơ dài giúp tạo liên kết chắc chắn vải trở nên bền hơn, cầm cứng tay hơn sau khi ngâm với nước.
Độ bền cao: Vải lanh không bị giãn, mất form khi sử dụng lâu ngày, dễ dàng bảo quản và giặt bằng tay hoặc bằng máy.
Kháng khuẩn tốt: Vải lanh có thể hạn chế tối đa khả năng xâm nhập của vi khuẩn bởi tính thông thoáng nên thân thiện với làn da người sử dụng, không lo kích ứng kể cả da em bé.
5.2. Nhược điểm của vải lanh lụa
Tuy có nhiều ưu điểm như trên nhưng vải lanh lụa vẫn còn tồn tại nhược điểm đó là độ đàn hồi của vải chưa cao. Vì thế, không nên sử dụng bàn là với chất liệu vải này vì sẽ làm mất đi tính đàn hồi vốn có của vải, lâu dần sẽ làm giảm chất lượng của trang phục.
6. Ứng dụng của vải lanh lụa
6.1. Sản xuất khăn quàng cổ
Vải linen có độ bền cao cùng độ bóng mượt, mềm mại, thấm hút mồ hôi tốt nên được ứng dụng rộng rãi trong công nghiệp sản xuất khăn quàng.
6.2. May áo dài cách tân
Chất liệu lanh lụa có độ mềm mượt tối đa cùng với độ bồng bềnh của vải nên rất thích hợp để may các trang phục áo dài cách tân, đem đến tính thẩm mỹ cao, sự mềm mại, thanh thoát cho người mặc.
Ngoài ra, chất liệu này còn được ứng dụng cao trong may quần áo, đồ bộ mặc nhà vì độ thấm hút tốt và không gây bí bách cho da.
7. Hướng dẫn cách bảo quản vải lanh lụa đúng nhất
- Không nên giặt trang phục với nước nóng, tránh tình trạng co rút vải.
- Không sử dụng bột giặt hoặc các chất tẩy rửa quá mạnh.
- Hạn chế việc là trực tiếp lên vải lanh lụa.
- Bảo quản trang phục ở nơi khô ráo, thoáng mát, tránh ẩm mốc.
- Phơi trang phục ở nơi thoáng mát, ánh sáng tối đa giúp trang phục thơm hơn.
- Nên treo trang phục lên móc bằng nhựa để giữ được form dáng quần áo, tránh để lâu gây nhăn trang phục.
